Palazzo degli Affari in Florence
A modernist structure, designed by architect Pierluigi Spadolini in 1974 as a congress centre, convention and cultural event space, it overlooks Piazza Adua, very close to the Santa Maria Novella railway station, and covers an area of 4,000 square metres, spread over six floors.
In 2021, renovation work began to improve the building’s environmental sustainability in terms of energy efficiency and effectiveness, as well as the use of renewable resources to ensure high standards in maintenance, durability of components, interchangability of parts and compatibility of materials.
With this in mind, Aira GreenUp seats were chosen: the new eco-sustainable version of the Aira collection notable for being produced with 70% recycled plastic from separate waste collection; tested for strength, durability and safety.
Reopened to the public in July 2022, the Palazzo degli Affari now offers 15 modular conference rooms with manoeuvrable walls and, together with the Palazzo dei Congressi and the Fortezza da Basso, forms a remarkable congress and exhibition centre in the centre of Florence.
